Dagala Trek Route

Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu

  • Pick-up at Paro International Airport.
  • Drive to Thimphu (1 hr).
  • Visit Buddha Dordenma, Tashichho Dzong, and local market.
  • Trek briefing and preparation.
  • Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 2: Trek Begins – Gynekha to Gur

  • Drive to Gynekha village (2,800m).
  • Trek distance: ~7 km / 5 hrs.
  • Trail climbs through terraced fields, oak & rhododendron forests.
  • Camp at Gur (3,290m) in yak herder meadows.
  • Overnight in camp.

Day 3: Gur – Labatama

  • Trek distance: ~12 km / 6 hrs.
  • Trail crosses several ridges (up to 4,200m) with panoramic Himalayan views.
  • Descend to the alpine lakes at Labatama (4,300m).
  • Overnight in camp beside lakes.

Day 4: Rest & Exploration at Labatama

  • Explore the “Thousand Lakes” region – Reli Tsho, Hen Tsho, Jama Tsho.
  • Optional short hikes to surrounding peaks for views of Kanchenjunga & Mt. Everest (weather permitting).
  • Overnight in camp at Labatama.

Day 5: Labatama – Panka

  • Trek distance: ~8 km / 6 hrs.
  • Cross several high passes (up to 4,500m).
  • Enjoy stunning views of Himalayan peaks: Everest, Kanchenjunga, Masagang, Tsenda Gang, Jichu Drake, and Gangkar Puensum.
  • Camp at Panka (4,000m).
  • Overnight in camp.

Day 6: Panka – Talakha – Chamgang – Thimphu (Trek Ends)

  • Trek distance: ~8 km / 6 hrs.
  • Cross last mountain passes with excellent views.
  • Visit Talakha Monastery.
  • Descend to Chamgang village, meet transport.
  • Drive to Thimphu.
  • Evening free in city.
  • Overnight in Thimphu hotel.

Day 7: Departure

  • Transfer to Paro Airport for flight home.

  • Stunning Himalayan panoramas including Mt. Everest & Kanchenjunga (on clear days).

  • Wildflowers (in spring), golden meadows (in autumn).
  • Less crowded than Druk Path.
