Day 1: Arrival – Paro / Phuentsholing – Thimphu

Option A: Arrival via Paro International Airport

  • Receive at Paro Airport.
  • Drive to Thimphu (65 km / 1.5 hrs).
  • Stop at Tachog Lhakhang Iron Bridge en route.
  • Evening leisure walk in Thimphu town.
  • Overnight in Thimphu.

Option B: Arrival via Phuentsholing (by road)

  • Meet at Phuentsholing Gate.
  • Scenic drive to Thimphu (176 km / 6–7 hrs).
  • Arrive at Thimphu by evening.
  • Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing
  • Visit Buddha Dordenma, Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong.
  • Explore School of Arts & Crafts, Textile Museum, Folk Heritage Museum.
  • Evening: Visit Centenary Farmer’s Market or Handicraft Bazaar.
  • Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha (77 km / 3 hrs)
  • Stop at Dochula Pass (3,100m) for Himalayan views & 108 chortens.
  • Visit Punakha Dzong, the Palace of Great Happiness.
  • Short hike to Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility).
  • Overnight in Punakha.
Day 4: Punakha – Phobjikha (Gangtey Valley) (80 km / 3 hrs)
  • Scenic drive to Phobjikha Valley, a glacial valley.
  • Visit Gangtey Monastery and explore nature trails.
  • Spot the famous Black-necked cranes (in winter).
  • Overnight in Phobjikha.
Day 5: Phobjikha – Trongsa – Bumthang (200 km / 7 hrs)
  • Drive to central Bhutan.
  • Stop at Trongsa Dzong & Ta Dzong (Royal Heritage Museum).
  • Continue to Bumthang Valley, cultural heartland of Bhutan.
  • Overnight in Bumthang.
Day 6: Bumthang Sightseeing
  • Visit Jambay Lhakhang, Kurje Lhakhang, and Tamshing Monastery.
  • Explore local handicraft shops & traditional weaving centers.
  • Evening leisure walk in Chamkhar town.
  • Overnight in Bumthang.
Day 7: Bumthang – Paro (Flight or Road)
  • Take a domestic flight Bumthang–Paro (if available) OR full-day drive back to Paro.
  • Evening at leisure in Paro.
  • Overnight in Paro.

Day 8: Paro – Tiger’s Nest Hike & Departure
  • Early morning hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang) – 5 hrs round trip.
  • Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples.
  • Transfer to Paro Airport for onward flight / drive to Phuentsholing if exiting by road.
